KBBConnect and ArtiCAD are delighted to announce that a school funded by its parent company, SHD, has recently opened in Rwanda.
Located in the village of Bweramwura, the existing school was in very poor condition with rain leaking through the roofs, an unstable mud brick construction and dreadful hygiene provision. The new SHD-funded school includes refurbished and extended classrooms, a new latrine block with ten cabins (including one for children with disabilities) and a cistern to guarantee water supply.
The school provides educational facilities for 1600 children. Theresa Turner, a director of ArtiCAD: “As a group, we take our corporate social responsibility very seriously, as well as being passionate about the role which education can play in helping to improve and enhance opportunities in life. For SHD this belief is focussed on helping children in countries, such as Rwanda.” The funding of the school was coordinated by the Reiner Meutsch Stiftung Fly & Help foundation, which was established in 2009.
